Bio
Jim is a 68-year-old with a unique and exciting background. Born and raised in England, Jim joined the prestigious British Army at 18 (taking a much-needed break from his rigorous unemployment duties). During his ten years in service, he acquired fluency in German and Spanish- being stationed in the former West Germany and Belize, respectively.
After receiving an honourable discharge (more by luck than judgement), Jim left the Army to pursue a software engineer and trainer career. He thankfully had a brief respite from the world of computing when he was on a jaunt to the Turks and Caicos Islands, and he met the love of his life, Charlie, from New Hampshire. What followed was a true whirlwind romance, complete with a secret elopement (not really, it was a trial run to see if they could stand living with each other) to Staffordshire, England -where they ran a pub for a year.
Following the pub endeavour, Jim and Charlie moved to the States (much to the delight of Jim’s family in England). Jim worked as a computer trainer and eventually founded his website design business.
In 2012, Jim experienced a heart attack and cardiac arrest, preventing him from working for a while. Following his recovery, he decided that retirement was the way to go – that way, he could spend more quality time with Charlie and their dogs. Currently, they split their time between an off-the-grid home near Taos, New Mexico, and Mulege, Baja California Sur, Mexico.
These days, Jim enjoys the beautiful scenery of New Mexico and Mexico with Charlie and their (currently) three dogs. In his free time, Jim is trying his hand at writing cosy mystery and police procedural novels set in England. Keep your eyes peeled for publication details!
